STARTRADER, a global retail FX and CFDs brokerage group, has announced the appointment of Jay Mawji as Chief Executive Officer of STARprime, the firm’s newly launched institutional prime services division.

STARprime represents STARTRADER’s strategic expansion into the institutional space, delivering advanced liquidity and technology solutions to brokerages, hedge funds, and fintech firms operating in the CFDs sector. Headquartered in Dubai, STARprime will be supported by a network of regional offices worldwide, aiming to set new standards in B2B trading infrastructure.

Mawji, a well-respected figure in the industry, brings over 15 years of leadership experience. He previously served as CEO of INFINOX, where he played a key role in shaping the firm’s global presence and institutional division, IXO Prime. Earlier this year, Mawji stepped down following a change in INFINOX’s ownership.

This appointment follows a series of high-profile additions to STARTRADER’s leadership team, including Chief Commercial Officer Moe Padhani, Head of Operations Allan Maira, and Client Operations Specialist Clarice Frost — signalling the group’s commitment to scaling both its retail and institutional offerings.

In a statement to FNG, Jay Mawji commented:

“I have had a close relationship with STARTRADER for many years and we have been patiently waiting for our opportunity to work together. STARTRADER has a strong Partner & Retail offering; it’s only natural that we expand into offering a Premium Liquidity Product through STARprime.”

Peter Karsten, CEO of STARTRADER, added:

“It is fantastic for STARTRADER to have Jay join us; his track record speaks for itself. We truly believe in bringing together the best individuals and teams we can, to provide our clients with an unparalleled product and service, this move achieves just that.”

STARTRADER and STARprime operate globally under a robust regulatory framework, holding licenses from authorities including the SCA (UAE), ASIC (Australia), FCA (UK), FSCA (South Africa), FSA (Seychelles), and FSC (Mauritius).
